Poetry of the Resistance is an online (and soon to be print) periodical designed to offer a voice and platform to writers who have something to say about the world as it is.
Political poetry is not always looked upon favorably. However, at Poetry of the Resistance it is. We welcome political thoughts in verse (free & metrical), as well as in prose of the fictional and non-fictional variety. Visual art is welcome, too.
What counts as political is up to you to decide.
This is a non-partisan endeavor. While the curator, Jeremy Nathan Marks, is certainly a political person with strongly held views, he does not feel it is his place to tell you what you should, think, write or believe. And he certainly doesn’t want to turn away words written from authentic, conscientious experience. What he won’t share is virulent prejudice and scabrous language.
Please send your submission of up to 5 poems, 2 short stories, 1 personal statement (in the style of a letter-to-the-editor), 2 photographs, or 1 piece of digital art to firstname.lastname@example.org
